A narative text of Cinderella

Once there was a noble man who lived in a big house with his beautiful daughter, named Cinderella. His wife had died and he got married to a lady who already had two ugly daughters. But the poor man could not lives with his family for long and died a few years later. The stepmother did not care for the pretty girl. The two sisters were terrible to their new sister, Cinderella. There were so jealous of Cinderella that they made her do all the work in the big house.
“Cinderella, wash the floor!!” “Cinderella, get the dinner ready!!” Cinderella, why did you not make the beds??” These were the short of things the stepsister said to Cinderella since morning till night. The poor girl was always tired and her clothes became ragged. Everyone in the family scolded her. She always used to sit and weep on the stool in a corner of the house.
One day, an invitation to a big ball arrived at Cinderella’s house from the King and Queen of the country. Every young girl of the kingdom was invited to the ball so that the Prince could choose a bride amongst them.
Smiling at her face in the mirror, one of stepsisters said, “I am so beautiful and clever that the Prince will choose me.”. ” You foolish! I am more beautiful than you. I am sure the Prince will fall in love with me.” Said the other stepsister, pushing her aside.
The ugly sister were in a dither about what to wear and how will they look the best. No one thought of asking Cinderella, if she would like to go to the ball or not. They kept her busy helping them get ready. At last, the day of the ball came. “Can I come to the ball?” asked Cinderella. The stepsisters lamented with laughter, “You want to go to the ball…! Just look at your clothes, how tattered they are!”. They drove away in the carriage to the King’s palace.
Cinderella was unhappy and lonely. She sat on her stool and wept, “O my God! Could I go to the ball?” Suddenly, to Cinderella’s surprise a beautiful lady appeared before her with a silver wand in her hand. “Cinderella, I am your fairy godmother. Don’t weep. I shall help you to go to the ball, but first bring me the largest pumpkin you can find in the garden. Cinderella ran to the garden and brought the largest pumpkin she could see. The fairy waved her wand, and there was a flash of light and the pumpkin changed into a golden coach.
“Now, we need a few horses to draw the coach. Look at the mouse trap and see if there is anyone to use.” said the fairy godmother. Cinderella ran to the larder and brought a cage of six mice. Again the fairy waved her wand and the mice turned into horses.
Now, there was a need for a coachman. Cinderella was again told to bring one more mouse. There was one mouse in the mouse trap and godmother touched the mouse with her wand. The mouse disappeared and in front of the coach, sat a coachman in a smart uniform.
Once again the fairy godmother asked Cinderella to bring something to use water barrel. The fairy waved her wand and transformed them into beautiful footmen.
“How can I go into the ball with ragged clothes and barefoot?” asked Cinderella. The fairy godmother touched Cinderella with her wand. Ragged clothes turned into a beautiful  gown, and on her feet were her prettiest pair of glass slippers
“Cinderella, now you are ready to go to the ball.” said the fairy godmother. “But remember, the magic will last until midnight and then everything will change as it was before. So you will have to leave the ball before midnight.”
The ball was about to start. Cinderella arrived in the palace and the coachman opened the door. She gently walked to wards the party hall. Thinking that she must be a Princess, the Prince came to greet her. She was the most beautiful among all the ladies present in the palace, but no one knew who she was. Even her stepsisters could not recognize her because they had forced Cinderella to stay at home.
All evening the Prince stayed with Cinderella and danced with her. They fell in love with each other. Cinderella was so happy that she forgot what the godmother had told to her. Suddenly the clock struck the first stroke of midnight. She cried and ran towards the door of the place. She ran so quickly that one of her slippers came out of her foot. The Prince ran after her, but she had disappeared. The Prince took the slipper and kept it in his room. At the twelfth stroke everything changed as it was before.
Cinderella reached home in ragged clothes before her stepsisters and stepmother. Prince was madly in love with the beautiful lady and said, “I will marry the girl who wore this slipper.” The King ordered his servants to look for the girl who had worn the glass slipper. The servants went from house to house to find the girl with the glass slipper. One by one they tried on the glass slipper on many girls, but it fitted  none of them.
At last, they came to Cinderella’s house. The stepsisters came forward with full excitement to try it on, but it did not fit them. Then the servants invited Cinderella to try it on. Her sister said that she was not in the ball. But, Cinderella took the slipper slipped on to her foot as if had been made for her. The stepsisters gasped in astonishment.
Suddenly, the fairy godmother appeared and she touched Cinderella was dressed in the beautiful grown. The Prince came and he recognized her Princess at once. Everyone stared in amazement. The Prince asked Cinderella to marry him and Cinderella was happy to hear this.
